FED 5b EEShaun
The FED is a Soviet rangefinder camera, produced from 1934 till 1990. FED is indirectly named after Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky, founder of the Cheka. It was his name that was given to the labour commune at Kharkiv whose manager, Anton Makarenko, encouraged a workshop education for indigent children. Large-scale production began in 1934, and in the same year the factory was put under NKVD control and Makarenko was fired. Production continued until 1941 till German forces destroyed the factory and resumed in 1946. This vintage camera is now out of production.
The FED 5B is a 35mm rangefinder camera. It comes with the famous Industar 61 L/D 55mm f/2.8 lens incorporating the rare-earth element lanthanum and a focal-plane shutter with 10 shutter speeds from 1s to 1/500s + B, flash sync up to 1/30s and a mechanical self-timer.
